In Darmstadt and Birlinghoven the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology SIT has a staff of 278 employees and research assistants (April 2026).

Operating Budget

The operating budget for all parts of the institute totalled around 29 million euros in 2025. In the previous year (2024), the operating budget amounted to around 28 million euros.
