Dr. Michael Kreutzer

Internationalization and Strategic Industrial Relations

Michael Kreutzer is deputy COO of the National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity ATHENE. He is esponsible for internationalization and strategic industry relations at the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology SIT.

He received his diploma in computer science from Saarland University, and in 2006 he received his PhD from Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg with "Scalable and Robust Service Discovery in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks". From 2008 to 2015 he was managing director of the Darmstadt center CASED (Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt), from 2011 to 2015 he was research coordinator of the BMBF competence center European Center for Security and Privacy by Design (EC SPRIDE).

Since the end of 2015, Michael Kreutzer has been a researcher at Fraunhofer SIT; since fall 2020, he has been acting head of the Advanced Cryptographic Engineering department. At the ATHENE Research Center, he contributes his expertise as Principal Investigator in the SecUrban research area.

Michael Kreutzer's areas of expertise are disinformation detection, governance of cybersecurity, post-quantum cryptography, cybersecurity of communities. He is involved in advising startups on cybersecurity.
